FIRST OF AUGUST 2009

Many things have changed since 1291 or even 1991 when we celebrated 700 years of good old Switzerland. Let's remind ourselves that the bonfires where part of a vigilance and warning system. Today our warning systems are of course much more sophisticated, but without the vigilance and will behind it to act, they amount to nothing. We are not talking about the Swiss army! We are talking about the collective idea of living together in peace and just do the right thing for nature and our planet as whole. Switzerland is only a small nation, but can be a humble example for the rest of the world. The million Swiss living abroad have to be small bonfires of hope for the next generations to come.
